Values and vision

Eton College wants all students to reach their full academic potential in a welcoming and sinpiring learning environment. The secondary school teaches boys to become independent learners and encourages them to discover their individual talents and strengths and make the most of them within the school community and beyond. Pupils are nurtured as confident, enthusiastic, tolerant, hard-working and ambitious individuals who possess the positive qualities of respect, kindness and responsibility. Students are taught of the importance of teamwork and contributing to the local and wider community as active and engaged citizens. Community is at the heart of the school, and throughout their time in education, pupils are actively encouraged to help raise money for those in need  through the Eton Action charity. The school believes in helping students pursue their hobbies and interests and offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities for them to get involved in outside of the classroom. These include sports clubs, music lessons, computing workshops and art class.

Independent School Inspectorate

“Almost all pupils leaving the school progress to selective universities. Over the last three years around a third have achieved a place at universities with highly demanding entry requirements, including several who have won organ and choral scholarships. A significant number of pupils secure places at universities or colleges overseas.”
