About us

Welcome to Looe Community Academy

Assessed by Ofsted in January 2019 as a good school, Looe Community Academy is a small co-educational 11-16 school of approximately 500 students which is part of SMART (South East Cornwall Multi Academy Regional Trust).

The academy provides a friendly and caring environment in which to learn, whilst expecting high standards of engagement, behaviour and achievement. The academy’s exam results are consistently good demonstrating progress for students regardless of their ability.

The academy has both performing arts, maths and computing specialisms. This has led to many benefits for students providing opportunities for building confidence, team work, commitment, performance and fun.  Although we are a small school we offer a broad curriculum and a wide range of qualifications at Key Stage 4.

The academy provides a large range of extracurricular activities for students to enjoy and to encourage the positive development of wider skills and abilities.

Our aspirations for our students are demonstrated in our motto which is Bydh gwella gylli – ‘Be the Best You Can Be’.
