You can check for the latest vacancies daily via our main search page, where you will find the latest teaching and education vacancies that have been posted on UK School Jobs.
By default, the jobs have been sorted by the date posted, you can change this via the top dropdown.
We have a selection of filter options within all of our search pages. On the main search page this selection includes the following:
- Keyword search
- This is an advanced search filed that will return you a list of vacancies that match your query as you type. The returned list will match you to vacancies by title first and then by other fields within each job after that, meaning that you can search for specific jobs as well as for jobs at particular schools.
- Location search
- This is an autocomplete search field that will return a list of matching locations below it as you type. Click a location and it will filter the list by that location. You can use the radius field below this to expand your location search.
- Category search
- Returns jobs within set categories.
- Contract Type
- Will return a set of jobs that match a set of job types.
- Contract Time
- Will return a set of jobs that match a set of job times.
- Salary Range
- Shows a set of salary ranges, that will match a number of vacancies that have been set within a set of salaries. The initial range will also show vacancies that have no set salary or are not within an annual range.
- Date Posted
- This will allow you to filter vacancies by a particular date range, such as 3 days ago.
There are a number of ways that you can find jobs in your location, the first is the use the global location search filter, which is accessible from a number of pages, including the main search page and the homepage.
You can also check out details about specific locations, and find vacancies within that location via our location guides. Check out our location guides here.
If you would like to save a job for later, you can do so by clicking the ‘Save this job’ button on an individual job advertisement page.
Once saved, the button will change its text to the word ‘Saved’ and job will then be listed on the ‘My Jobs’ page.
This list is stored on your local machine so it will not be available on other devices and will be removed, should you clear your browser data.
You can remove all of the jobs that you have saved by either clicking on the ‘Delete All’ button at the bottom of the My Jobs page, or by clearing your browser’s data.
You can also remove individual vacancies by clicking on the button to the right of the listing labelled ‘Delete’.
You can find vacancies that you have saved on the My Jobs page.
Vacancies that have expired will remain on the listings for the day that they have expired, after that, they will be removed from the site and will no longer be viewable.
If you attempt to access an expired vacancy, you will receive a 404 error.
Job Alerts FAQs
At the moment, we only allow job seekers to register for job alerts from specific companies that list their vacancies on UK School Jobs.
To subscribe to one of these job alerts by clicking the ‘Sign up for job alerts’ button that sits underneath the company details box within the sidebar of an individual vacancy page.
Once you click this button, a modal with a form should display. Enter your details into the Name and Email field and then click ‘Subscribe’. If you haven’t subscribed to a job alert yet, you will receive an email that will ask you to opt into the job alerts service.
Once you click on the opt-in button within this email, you should be taken to an opt-in page on UK School Jobs, you should then have opted into the subscribed to job alert automatically.
You can unsubscribe from individual job alerts by clicking on the unsubscribe button at the bottom of any of the job alerts emails. This will take you to a page on UK School Jobs with a button.
Click the button to unsubscribe.
Job Application FAQs
On every vacancy that is listed on UK School Jobs you should find a button on the page that will allow you to apply for the job that you are currently viewing.
Once clicked, a form should be loaded on the page, fill in the form with your personal details and then click the send application button, once clicked you will be taken to the next step of the application.
For a number of applications, this next step will be a continued form that will ask you for further details that the company is asking for.
On other applications, you might have already completed your application.
Each school’s recruitment policy is different and so the answer to this question will be different for each vacancy that you might apply for. If the company has left contact details, you should get in touch with the company directly in order to find out the status of your application.
