Part Time Variable Hour Tutor of Digital Technologies

About the role

The York College Digital Technologies team require part-time tutor to teach programming and OO principles to second year foundation degree students for 3 hours per week for 15 weeks (February to June).

The module will cover: computational thinking and problem-solving skills, object orientation (encapsulation, polymorphism etc), database connectivity, security techniques (APIs, restricted privileges, trust boundaries, encapsulation, validation, appropriate documentation, version control, code analysis tools) and testing strategies. The language used should be C#, Java, C++ or similar.

You will be expected to produce learning resources, devise and mark two assignments (one practical programming task and a short evaluation report) and support the students to develop their skills. You will be supported by the award leader.

Ideally suited to PhD students who wish to gain experience of teaching at degree level.
